Privacy Policy
LTax Privacy Policy
Effective Date: July, 2026
Last Revised: July, 2026
1. Who We Are and Purpose of This Policy
LTax, is committed to protecting the privacy of our current, former, and prospective clients, as well as visitors to our website, ltaxconsulting.com (the “Website”). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and disclose personal data about you when you interact with us, including through our Website and in connection with the tax preparation, planning, and advisory services we provide (the “Services”).
2. Special Note on Tax Return Information
Because we provide tax services, certain information you give us is “tax return information” protected by federal law (Internal Revenue Code §§ 7216 and 6713 and related regulations). We do not use or disclose your tax return information for purposes other than preparing your return or providing the Services you have engaged us for, except with your written consent or as otherwise permitted or required by law. Where federal tax law imposes stricter limits than this Privacy Policy, the stricter limits control.
3. Personal Data We Collect
We may collect personal data about you when you visit our Website, to facilitate tax preparation, planning, and advisory services to you, and for our business and commercial purposes. “Personal data” for the purposes of this Privacy Policy means any information that can help us directly or indirectly identify you and, with regard to California residents only, personal information as defined under the CCPA.
- Identifiers — such as name, postal address, email address, telephone number, date of birth, Social Security number or taxpayer identification number, driver’s license number, and online identifiers.
- Financial and tax information — such as income, wages, deductions, dependents’ information, bank account and routing numbers (e.g., for refunds or payments), investment and asset information, and prior-year tax returns.
- Characteristics of protected classifications — such as marital status or other information appearing on tax forms, to the extent required to provide the Services.
- Commercial information — such as records of Services purchased or considered, and billing history.
- Internet or network activity — such as how you interact with our Website, and online tools.
- Audio, electronic, or visual information — including, where permitted by law, recordings of phone calls between us and individuals (e.g., voicemail) and audio, image and video records of visitors or our offices or events.
- Professional or employment-related information — such as occupation, employer, and compensation as reflected in tax documents.
- Inferences — drawn from the above to understand your preferences and which Services may interest you.
- Sensitive personal information under the CCPA — such as your social security number, passport number, driver’s license, state identification card, citizenship and immigration status, and account log-in and access code or credentials allowing access to an account.
4. Sources of Personal Data
We collect personal data:
- Directly from you — through engagement letters, intake forms and tax organizers, documents you upload or deliver to us, correspondence, and career applications.
- From your representatives or intermediaries — such as your financial advisor, bookkeeper, attorney, or prior tax preparer, at your direction.
- From third-party sources — such as the IRS and state tax authorities (e.g., transcripts you authorize us to obtain), payroll providers, financial institutions, and publicly available records.
- Automatically — through cookies and similar technologies when you use our Website, as described below.
5. Cookies, Analytics, and Similar Technologies and Do Not Track
When you visit our Website, we and certain third parties may place cookies and similar technologies (such as pixels, tags, and local storage) on your device. Cookies are small data files that let a website recognize your device and remember information about your visit. We use them for the following purposes:
- Strictly necessary — to operate the Website, enable security features, and let you access secure areas such Tax Caddy. These cannot be switched off in our systems.
- Preferences/functional — to remember choices you make (such as language or display settings) and improve your experience.
- Analytics/performance — to understand how visitors find and use the Website so we can improve it. We use Google Analytics for this purpose. To learn how Google handles this data, see Google's privacy and partner-site policies; you can opt out of Google Analytics using Google's browser add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
- Advertising/targeting — to deliver ads about our Services and measure their effectiveness, including across other websites. We may use the Google Ads remarketing tag, and LinkedIn Insight Tag. These third parties may set their own cookies and receive identifiers and information about your activity on our Website. Using these advertising technologies may be considered a "sale" of personal information, or "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising, under certain U.S. state privacy laws. You can opt out of this activity by broadcasting an opt-out preference signal as described below.
- Embedded Content from Other Websites – Articles on our Website may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
- Customer relationship and analytics — We use HubSpot to host forms / landing pages, manage client communications, and understand how visitors interact with our Website. HubSpot sets cookies through its tracking code to recognize returning visitors and measure engagement. For information on the cookies HubSpot uses and how it handles data, see HubSpot's Cookie Policy (https://legal.hubspot.com/cookie-policy) and Privacy Policy (https://legal.hubspot.com/privacy-policy).
Under the CCPA, you may have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information for targeted advertising purposes.
The Website may also include social media features, such as the Facebook Like button, and widgets, such as the Share This. These features may collect your IP address, which page you are visiting on the Website, and may set a cookie to enable the feature to function properly. Social media features and widgets are either hosted by a third party or hosted directly on our Website. Your interactions with these features are governed by the privacy statement of the companies that provide them.
Some web browsers may transmit “do not track” (“DNT”) signals. We currently do not respond to DNT settings in your web browser. However, we recognize legally required opt‑out preference signals, such as the Global Privacy Control (GPC), where applicable under U.S. state privacy laws.
6. Why We Collect Personal Data

Please note that for purposes of this section, “sharing” does not include “sharing” as defined under the CCPA. For additional disclosures and information on our CCPA practices, please see the below section Additional Information for California Residents.
8. Security of Personal Data
We will take reasonable steps to use security measures appropriate to the nature of the information to protect personal data against unauthorized access, exfiltration, acquisition, theft, or disclosure. Given the nature of information security, there is no guarantee that such safeguards will always be successful.
9. How Long We Retain Personal Data
How long we keep your personal data will vary depending on the type of personal data and our reasons for collecting it. The retention period will be determined by various criteria, including the purposes for which we are using it (as it will need to be kept for as long as is necessary for any of those purposes) and our legal obligations (as laws or regulations may set a minimum period for which we have to keep your personal information). In general, we will retain your personal data for as long as we require it to perform our contractual rights and obligations or for periods required by our legal and regulatory obligations.
10. Your Rights Over Your Personal Data
Depending on where you live and how you interact with us, you may have the right to access, correct, receive a copy of, or request deletion of personal data we hold about you, subject to exceptions (for example, records we must keep under tax and professional rules). To make a request, contact us using the details in How to Contact Us.
11. Links to Other Websites
Our Website may link to third-party sites. Those sites are governed by their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their practices.
12. Children’s Privacy
Our Website and Services are not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16 except as necessary to provide tax services to their parents or guardians (for example, dependent information on a tax return).
